Dr. Adrian Fischer is the founder and CEO of DEMECAN, the only independent German company producing medical cannabis in Germany. In this role, he is responsible for the company’s strategic development and brings medical expertise and regulatory insight to the evaluation and advancement of cannabis-based therapies within clinical practice.
His work combines entrepreneurial leadership with deep medical and regulatory expertise, enabling him to assess developments in medical cannabis not merely from a theoretical perspective, but in direct alignment with the practical requirements of one of the world’s most strictly regulated healthcare markets.
Dr. Fischer studied medicine in Cologne and Boston and earned his doctorate with a multi-award-winning scientific dissertation. His research has been published internationally, and his findings on the effects of antidepressants have been featured in international media outlets such as Time Magazine.
Beyond his work as an entrepreneur and physician, Dr. Fischer is actively engaged in evidence-based medical cannabis education. He is the author of Alles rund um Cannabis (“Everything About Cannabis”) and shares evidence-based insights through educational social media formats such as Dr. Cannabis. Through regular appearances in the media and at (inter)national conferences, he contributes to greater awareness, informed discussion, and the destigmatization of medical cannabis and cannabinoid-based therapies.
