Speaker Bio
Matt Nissenbaum is a pioneer in direct-to-consumer ecommerce for the cannabis industry, with over two decades of digital growth and marketing success in highly regulated categories, the last several exclusively dedicated to cannabis.

Matt is currently Head of Cannabis at Lucyd, a performance marketing agency for policy-constrained industries like cannabis, hemp, telehealth, and peptides. Founded by Aaron Nosbisch (also founder of BREZ), Lucyd is known for navigating the complexities and compliance of paid advertising on Meta, Google, and TikTok, channels most agencies won't touch. Before Lucyd, Matt was CEO & Co-Founder of DTCanna and Head of Direct-To-Consumer & Strategic Partnerships for Grassdoor, where he commercialized DTC ecommerce as a managed service for brands and marketplaces in California, launching over 120 state-compliant, branded online stores, including 710 Labs, Cann, and Kiva.

Matt got his start in cannabis as Head of Digital for Lowell Farms, helping launch Lowell Cafe and building the prototype for a brand-operated, licensed DTC ecommerce platform in regulated cannabis. Earlier in his career, Matt was an early-stage employee at advertising agencies and high-growth startups, one of which made a deal with Mark Cuban on Shark Tank.

Matt's leadership and mentorship has led to speaking at nationally-recognized conferences, judging roles for prestigious cannabis cups, and multiple advisory / board seats. A husband, father, and lifelong plant enthusiast, Matt was born and raised in New York, educated at NYU, and based in Southern California since 2010.
