Speaker Bio
I'm not a cannabis businessman who loves the plant. I'm a cultivator who built a business around my passion.
Before cannabis was an industry, it was a coveted craft shared by a very select community of people. I've been immersed in that craft for almost 3 decades. Long before legalization, I watched it bring together creatives, musicians, athletes, and entire communities bound by a common energy. For me, it started in middle school: a curiosity that quickly became an appreciation for what the plant could do beyond the surface. I realized early on that cannabis wasn't just a substance, it was a lifestyle, a culture, and a connector of people.
In 2016, I co-founded Maven Genetics with a group of people who shared that same DNA — deep roots in cultivation, creative, design, and marketing, and a lifestyle built around surf, art, sports, music, and authenticity. We weren't building a cannabis company. We were building a brand that represented how we actually live. Maven was born out of genuine friendship and shared passion — and the name said it all. A Maven is an expert, a connoisseur. We felt that was exactly right.
The response confirmed what we already believed: people wanted products from an authentic group connected to the culture, with a real story and a real vibe behind them.
As President, I am the operational backbone and the visionary that executes. Equally comfortable mapping a five-year vertical integration strategy as I am in the details of a single pheno hunt. That ability to move fluidly between macro vision and micro execution is what has allowed Maven to compete and win in the most difficult, regulated, and saturated cannabis market in the world: Los Angeles.
I've developed award-winning genetic strains that have become pillars of the craft cannabis conversation - French Laundry (FKAFL), Prizm, and Orange Bellini among them. These aren't just products. They are expressions of a creative philosophy rooted in precision, passion, and culture.
Before Maven, I ran my own music production studio, released multiple albums, and DJ'd internationally. For 10 years straight, I produced Urban Underground. One of LA's longest-running Hip Hop weekly events, held every Friday night in DTLA. That world taught me everything about building community, curating experience, and earning loyalty you can't buy.
The throughline across all of it is the same: Music, art and cannabis - I create things that make people feel something. Products and experiences that spark a memory, shift a mood, and leave a mark.
